Our classroom setting at the St. Teresa of Avila Child Development Center will scaffold children as they explore and create their own ideas.
Goals for Our Students
St. Teresa of Avila Child Development Center has designed a curriculum and daily schedule which will have reachable goals for each child admitted into our program. Daily experiences will foster the desire to learn and explore in a developmentally, age appropriate environment. The classroom setting will scaffold children as they explore and create their own ideas.
Our preschool program provides a learning environment that is experiential, nurturing, safe and positive. Each child has the opportunity to explore, learn, make friends and feel successful. Our focus is on the whole child with emphasis on the spiritual, social, academic, emotional and physical aspects of each student. The parents are the first and most important teachers in a child's life. Through strong communication and support we form partnerships between parents and staff.
Children will be able to express themselves through art, music, movement and a guided relationship with Jesus. We will strive to develop independence among our students as well as model strategies for problem solving situations, which will carry over throughout life.
We will demonstrate positive behaviors such as sharing, acceptance and compromising so that our students learn to treat others as they desire to be treated. St. Teresa of Avila Child Development Center will provide each student with promising beginnings toward a love for education and Our Heavenly Father.
