Mrs. Long grew up in Carson City, Nevada.  She graduated from Carson High School. She moved to Reno, where she attended the University of Nevada, Reno, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science.  She currently lives in Minden with her husband, three daughters, Ashley, Amber and Alyssa, two dogs, two cats, two chinchillas, nine chickens, two cockatiel, several fish and a guinea pig. She has taught at a 4-6 day treatment program and three years in kindergarten, as well as volunteering in her children's classes from kindergarten to fifth grade. Her favorite grade to teach is kindergarten where she can foster a love of learning and reading in her students.
